What Is The Best Paper For An Order Of Service?

An Order of Service is an important part of a wedding or funeral. They can be a treasured keepsake after the event as well.
So, what is the best paper for an Order of Service?
250gsm matt and insides on 160gsm matt.
This feels heavier than standard printer paper, but 250gsm is robust enough without being as heavy as postcard stock for example. You wouldn’t want the two extremes of a very thick cover and a very thin inside page.
But on the reverse, a heavy 300gsm cover and 250gsm inside page won’t feel different enough to each other when you hold them, and risk being a bit of a ‘clunky’ booklet to be handling during a service. If you do choose a heavier stock, the inside pages will always be creased before stapling to avoid any cracking along the spine.
Order of Service designs are rarely covered with bold patterns or colours. We recommend to print onto a matt stock instead of gloss or silk. Matt paper is usually closer to a pure white (whereas shiny gloss and silk tend to be off white and yellowish) for a more refined final product.
As the Order of Service is a staple bound booklet, the pages need to be in multiples of 4 (4 page, 8 page, 12 page, etc). If you only have three pages or and odd number of pages for your design, a blank page can easily be added on the inside of the front or back cover.
